Our job is to help people communicate
in the best possible way

Barbara is the co-founder and owner of Stream Media and has lead every project over the past 13 years. Her vision to create a world-class creative consulting firm in a city of 55,000 was admirable, and as it turns out, successful.

Her leadership and creative guidance has helped the Medicine Hat College tell their story of evolution, brought dignity to the residents of the Medicine Hat Women’s Shelter and REDI Enterprises, and helped preserve a piece of Alberta history in the National Historic Clay District.

Barbara is a storyteller at heart, so providing structure for the teams she assembles to produce video, websites, brand identities and print materials, comes easy. Whether it’s working with the Southeast Alberta EDA, the UBC Forestry Department or the National Museum of Australia, she brings the same enthusiasm and care to each piece of work Stream creates.

It is Barbara’s true commitment to people that has lead Stream to work on projects that have a lasting and powerful impact on their community. She has mentored high school students to tell their digital stories at the Exi-Mi-Ki school on the Tsulquate reserve in Port Hardy, BC, and has provided inspiring videos for students and staff at Olds, Northern Lakes, and Selkirk Colleges throughout Alberta and BC.

Julie has acted as Creative Director on each project Stream has produced over the past 13 years. What began as a love of video became a love of communication in all forms.

With an innate understanding of visual culture she has brought her directorial talents to Stream, her insight as a content strategist to acclaimed digital agencies in Calgary, (Critical Mass) and Portland, (ISITE Design), and acted as creative consultant to Vancouver communications company, Lucent Strategies.

She brought creative and content insight to the award winning Nissan LEAF, VERSA Sedan, Quest, and GT-Academy (with Playstation) microsites and has worked with teams to provide solutions for HP.com, Petco.com and Citi Asia. She’s overseen animations, videos, websites and design components for organizations such as Port Metro Vancouver and massive B.C. transportation projects like the Port Mann Bridge and the George Massey Tunnel.

Language, technology and social trends affect how we communicate; understanding this is what Julie thrives on and putting it into practice is what she loves to do. Hearing clients say that Stream makes people feel good about themselves, their products, and their message is the reason she gets out of bed in the morning.
